SUMMARY:A CAPPOCALYPSE! OR; Oconomowocapella’s A Cappella Practice Has Been Canceled! by Andrew Hobgood\, Joe Lino\, Jaimelyn Gray\, and The Constructivists
DESCRIPTION:THE CONSTRUCTIVISTS \n— by Andrew Hobgood\, Joe Lino\, Jaimelyn Gray\, and The Constructivists —  \nThe 39th Annual Upper Midwest Regional A Cappella Championships are mere days away. The final practice is tonight. And most of the ensemble is late. The group’s leader finally gets things moving\, and the ensemble is just about to start warming up when the last ensemble member finally arrives: covered in blood and blathering about how it’s raining sheep blood outside. Is it raining blood? Is it sheep blood? Did Myron remember the pitch pipe?! All of these questions and more will be answered! \nOn WPW Backstage by Mike Fischer\nThe Way We Live Now: Finding Community and Speaking Truth in a Divided America

SUMMARY:THE KENOSHA VERBATIM PROJECT by Nora Carroll\, Rayven Craft\, Katherine Layendecker\, Martin McClendon
DESCRIPTION:CARTHAGE COLLEGE THEATRE \n— by Nora Carroll\, Rayven Craft\, Katherine Layendecker\, Martin McClendon —  \nIn the summer of 2020\, Jacob Blake was shot seven times in the back by a Kenosha police officer\, touching off a chain of events that led to protests and major incidents in downtown Kenosha\, including the killing of two protesters by teenager Kyle Rittenhouse. What has happened since then? How has Kenosha changed or not changed? How do people view their city since these incidents? How do we move ahead? \nCarthage Theatre faculty and students are creating a piece of reality-based verbatim theatre that will examine how the people of our community have navigated the aftermath. Collecting material through interviews with community members as well as through researching trial transcripts\, news articles\, and other documents\, the team will create a script using the actual words of the people who experienced it. \nOn WPW Backstage by Mike Fischer\nThe Way We Live Now: Finding Community and Speaking Truth in a Divided America

SUMMARY:DEAR THEO: THE LETTERS OF VINCENT VAN GOGH
DESCRIPTION:FERMAT’S LAST THEATER CO.  \n— \nMelvin Hinton will read from the letters\, Maggie Schenk will narrate\, with violin music from Diana Wheeler and many\, many images. \nNo artist is held in higher esteem than Dutch artist Vincent Van Gogh. His paintings appear not only on museum walls but on tee shirts\, coffee mugs\, and posters around the world. But to know the paintings and drawings is to know only one aspect of his genius. He wrote an estimated 2000 letters in his short life\, more than 600 to his brother Theo\, an art dealer in Paris\, who often supported Vincent financially and carefully preserved their correspondence. Many of them contained sketches as well. The letters document Vincent’s turbulent emotional life\, his wide and deep reading\, and his artistic development. And his belief\, despite a lack of commercial success\, that he was in fact\, a great artist. “You know the fireflies in Brazil that are so luminous that in the evening ladies stick them into their hair with pins. It’s very fine\, fame\, but see\, it is to the artist what the hairpin is to those insects.” —Vincent Van Gogh\, Arles\, 1888 \nOn WPW Backstage by Mike Fischer\nThe Arts Generate A Lot of Money.
